The Brief History of MR.BEER®
Established in 1998, MR.BEER® was founded with a single goal in mind: to produce the world's easiest to use home brewing systems and supplies. With millions of satisfied customers, MR.BEER® has become the most popular home brewing system in the world.
Our malts are made only from the finest ingredients (barley, wheat, and hops). The grains are harvested before being taken into a state of the art malting house where they are sprouted to activate the grain's natural enzymes, then dried and kilned. Then, in our fully modern brewing facility on beautiful South Island NZ, the grains are cracked open and heated with water to bring out their natural sweetness. This process produces a rich, sweet liquid, which is then separated from the grain, and boiled with hops to produce wort with perfect color, flavor and balance. Excess water is then removed and the concentrated malt extract is promptly canned exclusively for MR.BEER®.
Excluding our malt extract, about 90% of MR.BEER® products are made in North America. From yeast and hops pellets grown, processed and packaged in the Northwest to bottles and fermenters created by American glass and plastic companies, MR.BEER® strives to keep its sources close to home whenever possible.
